The Leper Who Gave Thanks

Ten lepers
Were all cleansed by Christ
Only one
Remembered
To give Jesus thanks and praise
Often we forget

This is another shadorma, syllable count is 3-5-3-3-7-5.

When thinking about Thanksgiving and the Bible, Luke 17: 11-19 comes to my mind. In this passage Luke records the story where Jesus heals ten lepers. Nine were Jews and one was a Samaritan. All were healed, but only the Samaritan fell down to his knees and praised the Lord for being healed. He was truly thankful.

God blesses us everyday, and most people don’t think much about it. Most of us are like the other 9 lepers who were happy, but didn't take the time to be thankful. The Samaritan should be our example, not only to be thankful on Thanksgiving Day, but each and every day.

Excellent point...huge difference between being happy and thankful.
