Serena Deeb shocked the wrestling world when she defeated Thunder Rosa for the NWA Women's Championship. (Also known as The Burke.) Thunder Rosa was a great champion and I am sure will hold gold again. In my opinion she is Wrestler of the Year.
Some don't like my statement about me not liking an AEW wrestler winning NWA Gold, but I don't really care. My loyalty is with the NWA and the NWA roster. Nothing against Serena Deeb or the AEW, this is just my choice. Some people like the Boston Red Sox, and some like the Chicago Cubs.
It is true that a NWA champion will defend their title anyplace anytime, but still I hate to see a wrestler from from another promotion win the title. Thunder Rosa carried the NWA banner through a very tough period and Billy Corgan is indebted to her.
Often greatness and destiny are overlooked. This was the case with Chris Taylor and Ric Flair. Both men trained at the same time under Verne Gagne. Chris Taylor was seen as a rising star and no one took notice of Ric Flair. Taylor died at an young age and Flair made history. This could be the case with Serena Deeb.
Congratulations to Serena Deeb.
Best wishes to Thunder Rosa and her future.
