A Strange Bird Is Running for Lt. Governor

After Lt. Governor Winn Rockefeller decided not run for Governor, for health reasons, only two major party candidates are left in the race. Democrat Attorney General Mike Bebe, and Republican Asa Hutchinson (former Congressman and Ex-Undersecretary of Homeland Security) will most likely face no opposition in the primaries. Also Jim Lendall has hopes of being the Green Party candidate, and Musician Rod Bryan will attempt to run as an Independent.

The most interesting political battle,in the 2006 Arkansas Election, will be the race for Lt. Governor. Four Democrats and four Republicans have formally declared their candidacy. The last man who announced his candidacy came to my town and was in the Annual Crossett Rodeo Parade. His name is Drew Pritt from Warren, which is less than an hour away from Crossett.

Today I talked to a girl from Warren, who said he was a strange bird and has ran for public office on several occasions . In every race he has been badly defeated. Wanting to find out more about this man,I decided to search the Internet. I learned that he is a frequent blogger on Arkansas Times Online. It appears to me that Pritt has made many enemies on that site. Pritt often condemns people who oppose his political views. He is also Gay, which really makes my stomach turn.

One blogger at Arkansas Times Online, did a goggle search on him, and found quite a bit of information on Drew Pritt. He claims to be a Political Consultant who worked on Wesley Clark's Presidential Campaign in Wisconsin. Pritt has also ran for Congress in Wisconsin and Tennessee. In Bradly County Arkansas he has been a Write-In-Candidate for State Representative and County Judge.

Before entering the Lt. Governor's race, Pritt had endorsed all the other Democratic Candidates. To me he appears to be very odd. When I first heard him on the radio Monday he seemed very intelligent. He talked about saving the rural schools in Arkansas. But when I looked at the comments he has made on Arkansas Times Online, you see that he is a real weirdo.

As most of you know I am endorsing Jim Holt for Lt. Governor. He is a Christian,a Conservative, and believes that the power of Government is subject to the Constitution.

Drew Pritt sounds like the ultimate politician, saying whatever is needed to impress the audience of the moment, with different views for different audiences. You never know what he really thinks...

Your guy sounds like you can depend on him to uphold the Constitution as written by the forefathers.

It is, alas, normal for politicians to say one thing in public but another in private. That's salesmanship.

Mr. McDermott, you wrote many things about me that are not true. That shows me you have something of an agenda to pursue.

First of all, please do not write lies. Such as me appearing in the Rodeo Parade in Crossett....I did not.

Second of all, saying I was a write-in candidate for County Judge....I was not.

Third of all, writing hearsay and making judgement calls with no basis.

You have a right to free speech. That I do not deny. But what freedom is there in printing lies, scurrilous comments, and general hooey about someone, simply because you disagree with who they are as a person. When you indicated in your blog, you disagree with me, because I am gay, it was then you showed a vein of truth.

So to qualify and quantify that statement you made up everything else or skewed comments to cloak your own bias. I have friends in the Constitution Party. They don't, nor do most Arkansans or Americans, go in for this sort of Jerry Springer-like attacks on people who are different or for who you disagree with.

You owe me and your readers an apology. But as one is not forthcoming, at least I set the record straight!

One more comment....of TRUTH!

I am a Christian. Saved by the blood Christ shed for me and all sinners on the Cross of Calvary!

Drew Pritt,

You should hang your head in shame. I am tired of you and ask that you retire from politics, and look at your life objectively!
